Perfect introduction tour in the footsteps of Byzantium, Roman and Ottomans. The tour begins with a guided walking tour of Tarihi Asansor, a century old building donated by Jewish philanthropist businessman Nesim Levi. The elevator inside the building used to transport people and merchandise across the steep cliff between the two parts of the neighborhood. We take the tramway go to Ancient Asansor and Dario Moreno Street, where we can look all city to take a good photos. Public transport will be paid by our guide.
From one famous site to another! The elegant looking Clock Tower has the Ottoman architectural features, known as the symbol of Izmir adorns the Konak Square just like a pearl. The Clock Tower was constructed by Grand Vizier Said Pasha on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Sultan Abdulhamid II’s ascending the throne in 1901. It has 25 m height with four fountains around its circular base.
Next, Kizlaragasi Han Bazaar from 1744 with a uniquely Ottoman architecture with rectangular plans close to 4000 square meters, with two shopping portions called Cuha and Cevahir. The heart of Izmir beats in Konak, the centre of the city. It covers the areas that form the core of Izmir centres, such as historical Kemeralti Market. Lunch is not included, but you’ll receive some suggestions and enough time in Kemeralti district from your tour guide.
Before tour’s end, enjoy a visit to Agora open-air museum, it was once a bustling Roman bazaar, and today you can still see colonnades of Corinthian columns, vaulted chambers and a reconstructed arch. Then head to the clock tower located at the Konak Square, a symbol of Izmir. Decorated in Ottoman architecture, the tower features four fountains around the base in a circular pattern.
